London is more serious by comparison, but both are great cities with lots of history and loads of things to do. I'd suggest you get a couple of guide books from your library and read about each city. You'll start to get a feel for which you really long to see. One warning about London--it's hugely expensive, and that might effect your decision regarding how long you stay.
