Sicily is part of Italy ;)

btw,if u plan to have fun and girls,go to Rimini or Riccione: a lot of discos, and sooo many girls very ‘opened’ to the foreign guys also italian boys go there for have fun, dance all nights, seaside, and cute girls

(although you’ll miss the beauty of Milano,Rome,Venice, etc)

as Desire says…Sicily is an Italian region. Anyway if you want to have a great time you have to go to Sardinia.
is another italian island but is full of young guys.
Especially the city of PORTO ROTONDO.
The sea is wonderful and the night-life is really cool
    take a look

it might be a little bit expensive….but you’ll not regret…trust me!

Why OR? Sicily is part of Italy, first of all! So you can’t say Italy or Sicily! It like saying USA or Texas!

However, Sicily is very nice in summertime… or Puglia, Sardinia, Toscana, Emilia-Romagna

(place with beautiful women who love american guys???)

    Michael,

Definitely go to BOTH!! I spent 2 1/2 years stationed in Sicily (Sigonella) but traveled all over Italy many times and many places. I lived on the slopes of an active Volcano, Mt. Etna in a little town Motta St Anastasia. I have been ALL over Sicily Italy. Don’t confine yourself to one or the other. There is SO Much to see its not funny. In Italy go to Venice.. trip of a lifetime to see that city. Rome is a MUST because of the ruins and the coliseum. Going down a little further you can stop by Naples – why? Well there you can go up and see Pompeii, I was there 3 times and loved it, its awesome! You actually can walk around the old caldera.. sulfur fumes still come up through the ground and its pretty warm walking around there…but its a once in a lifetime trip thats for sure. I was there with 4 buddies the day we went to Pompeii.

Once you get into Sicily from the ferry you should travel the main highway down the coast and be sure to stop in Taormina Sicily. Its one of the most incredible spots to spend a few days.. and yes.. there are GIRLS from every country in the world there… note – most beaches in Taormina are topless/bottomless. You will not forget that little town, I promise you. There is also a neat amphitheatre where they do plays just like they did 2000 years ago in the same spot.

As you go further south you will next hit the big city of Catania. There is so much to see and do in this city. The cathedral of St Agata near Piaza Duomo. If you go up Via Etnea then you will pass right by the ruins of an old Roman Coliseum – yes.. a Coliseum. Part of the city is built OVER half of it! You can see it on Google maps. I’ve been down under there and walked all over. You can take a trip all the way up on Etna and see the caldera of the volcano. Remember though, its a TOTALLY active volcano. I saw it erupt a few times when I lived there.. had to keep cleaning the ash off my balcony. As you go across the Island toward Palermo make sure to visit and stop along the way and see the Valley of the Temples. There is a valley with all kinds of temples built over 2000 years + ago.

When you get to Palermo definitely get in with a tour group and go under the city and get a tour of the Catacombs.. I’ve still got pictures of the time I went down there. Its about 4 hours long to get all the way in (that they let you go).. the catacombs are massive and you MUST be guided. I saw Monk skeletons in the original robes with death dates of 1200 something on them…they’ve been down there 800 years +. No.. I’m not kidding. You will never see so many human bones in your lifetime. If you are squeamish – then you may want to evaluate going down there.. but its pretty neat. The girls (that you asked about) in Italy are great.. but most of them are very conservative. Trust me – think MAFIA and how they watch over their females.. ok.. this is the birthplace of that. Its the Customs of the country. The girls that you may find interesting are the foreigners (like you) visiting and vacationing. Again.. Taormina is the place you will never forget.. you just gotta believe me on that.

SO – don’t limit yourself to one or the other and be careful of the native Italian/Sicilian girls – they are conservative. Its the vacationing girls from other countries that you will remember the most! Get out of the cities and experience the Country, people, lifestyles and culture. You will see more and enjoy more if you do. While in Naples you’ll see alot of Americans.. Sailors from the Naval base there. In Sicily there is the base (where I was stationed) in Signonella (south of Catania) and alot of Sailors there too along with some Marines.

Have a wonderful and safe trip Michael!
