My mother is from Barcelona and I think it is gorgeous and one of the best cities in Europe. Winter weather is not too bad – upper 40′s to low 50′s. Another great city is Grenada, home to the amazing Moorish palace known as La Alhambra. Any city is great really as long as you are prepared for some not so sunny days due to the time of year.

Barcelona. Is the most cosmopolitan city in Spain. Lots of history, night life, good eating, walking day and night and extraordinary architecture. Stay near the Plaza Cataluña or Paseo de Gracia where you can find good 3 4 star hotels.
If you have only 2 days I recommened to take the touristic buses in from of El Corte Ingles at Plaza Cataluña it takes you to the principal atractions like La Sagrada Familia, Parque Guel, Casa Mila, Montduic and the olimpic city, the water front with the aquarium, etc. A walk in La Rambla and the Barrio Gotico shall be in your itinerary.
    Enjoy the city.

CANARY ISLANDS!!! Beautiful weather. And if you come NOT on Xmas-New year dates, it’s really CHEAP!

If you want continental Spain, go to the SOUTH, Sevilla, etc.
