What are the best places to visit in london and paris, in a short amount of time?

MEL asked:

I will be going to Paris for 2 days and London for 2 days, and I am very overwhelmed by the amount of things to do and see in each place. I may never get to go back, so I would somehow like to narrow everything down the best and most unforgettable things to see.

In paris they have open top tour buses go on one of these for the day and they pass every ten minutes at places of interest. Eiffel Tower would be a must and Arc de Triumph.

    In london try:

    VA Museum (free)
London Zoo and Regents Park (although London Zoo is reasonably expensive at £15pp)
The London Eye is good (approx £12 i think)
Take a trip on the DLR to Canary Whalf (£7 approx all day travel card)
Go to Denmark Street if you like guitars and music (free unless you buy something!)
    British Museum (Free)

Madam Tussades is overrated and expensive- dont bother with it.
    Avoid Kings cross- it’s horrible.

    Hope that kinda helps :)

I agree with the previous answer – definitely do the London Eye, though book in advance. Not sure about the Zoo tho’ – you can see caged animals anywhere in the world..

You can get a bus from Waterloo (the Eye) to Trafalgar Square – very nice – from there you can walk down the Mall to Buckingham Palace.

Also do the Tower of London – such an historical site can’t be missed off!
