What are some places to visit in England?

Karla asked:

I will be going to England this coming summer. I have been researching on places to visit. If anyone has any recommendations on where to visit, please let me know! I am very interested in museums, music shops( does anyone know where I can buy rare records in England?)

Many thanks!

London has it all, but as London is big, do a search, or ask in Travel/United Kingdom/London.

I’d also say, go to some of the smaller cities, towns and villages.
Almost every village has a museum, many of those good quality and very enjoyable.
As a lot of the English also collect music, you will find music shops/record shops in every city and most towns, and second hand markets in many.
Specially the car boot markets, where people bring their car and sell from the boot, or a table next to it, can wield many surprices. You will find them all over the country, mostly on Sunday mornings. More in rural areas than in the centre of big cities.

As all of England is interesting to visit, and almost all is beautiful, I can not give recommendations for specific areas or cities, not with the small amount of personal preferences you mention.

But for natural beauty, you can not go wrong with a national park.

The train from London Waterloo travels direct to Weymouth, you can stop at places across the south west on the way. There are a lot of castles and forts from Winchester to Weymouth that are now museums, for exmple, Durlston Castle, Corfe Castle , Nothe Fort , check out Thomas Hardy’s house, now a museum, …you might want to specify what type of museums you’re interested in visiting.
