Come to MALTA, you might see a few lovely days and see the sun. You will love it, people are very nice with tourist. You can aways email me if you need to ask anything about Malta.
Prague is a quality place to visit. Not as cheap as it once was but much cheaper than the UK. Excellent food, very cheap beer, lots of culture and history to check out. Very atmospheric in the winter – highly recommend picking up some mulled wine and waffles from Wenceslas Square! Be prepared for the cold though, it was -10 when we went there a few years ago in December.
Zimbabwe, night life is a killer.
Try Bruges in Belgium. Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate (and lace if you must)
Ok so Scotland is amazing an if you fly to Aberdeen there are some beautiful beaches and scenery. Also Somewhere like Stow on the wold is beautiful in Gloucestershire as you are really close to the Cotswolds which is very scenic and beautiful.
Abroad I can recommend Germany. You may be surprised by that choice but it is a beautiful Country, Stuttgart, Hamburg and Dusseldorf all have amazing scenery and are really nice places to relax and of course it has great shopping. I used to go to Germany once a week through work and it really is something. You can fly there in an hour or so and it can be quite reasonable.
Also on the pricier end of things Geneva is stunning. It is more expensive but I used to stay in a hotel overlooking the Lake and it really is beautiful, the Alps are also nearby and they have amazing chocolate.
Enjoy wherever you decide.
Iceland.
A chance to see the northern lights. Hot thermal springs and scenery as rugged and dramatic as you want.
fance, ski-ing, rent a lodge in the alps or near the alps,
Malaga Spain (Southern) and surrounding areas (i.e. Nerja, Ronda, Seville)
Fantastic scenery, warm weather, beautiful beaches.
I flew from Bristol, England to Malaga on EasyJet in December for around 25 pounds. Quite cheap, and the flight is only about 2 hours. Car hire was cheap too, and driving around wasn’t difficult at all.
Happy travels!
Kopaonik in SERBIA, is a great place to go in the winter, I have been there many times and is so great!
Praia da Rocha in the Algarve-Portugal is recommended during Winter. Gorgeous beach, great scenery.
There is always plenty to do and visit. The resort is near Portimão which is the 2nd town in the Algarve with a pretty riverside where you can take river or sea trips.
Praia da Rocha has plenty of restaurants open all year around and has a Casino with a nightly show. Close by you have Alvor which also has great cocktail bars and restaurants. Of course it’s not as busy as during the Summer or as hot, but the place is even more relaxed . Winter is low season so you should find everything is cheaper too. Find accomodation overlooking the beach but in a quiet location.
hi Yoyo,
try something not so boring and ordinary like Malta, Scotland or even Spain. I recommend you a great place in Bulgaria, a nice and not so popular winter resort Bansko. I hope you can ski
If you choose that one, this site is for accomodation in Bulgaria:
Have fun!
I like York and Chester a lot. Also Inverness and Edinburgh. Paris is wonderful no matter what season. If you want to go somewhere a bit warmer, try Barcelona.
