Planning a trip to London, how far in advance should I buy plane tickets?

Paradox asked:

I would like to go to London in late October or early November next year because I have read that is the best time of year to go there. When should I buy my tickets? I have fears of buying the tickets too soon because of possible unexpected circumstances (like loss of job or illness) that would cause me to have to cancel the trip. But I also hear that if you wait too long to buy them, they are more expensive. I don’t have any experience with international travel, so any help is appreciated!

About 90 days before you plan to fly is good. For discounted tickets see website referred below.

Usually the best time to buy is about 60-90 days before traveling. If you’re planning on going in late October/early November I would suggest start looking at tickets in July or August.

That’s usually when you’ll find the best deals. Also, make sure that your passport is valid! Enjoy London!

From being an experienced flyer, flying first class business 2 times every week to new york. I know for a simple straight fact that you always want to be safe than sorry! Always buy at least 2-3 months ahead of time. However, October and November is not one of the busiest months so far. Because of children at school and parents at work, most people do not have time to fly.

But that doesnt stop people from flying. My suggestion to you, is to book your flight appromately 1-2 months ahead of time. Processing and payment may take some time.

Please also keep in mind that if paper tickets is to be mailed then you want to factor that in also. But now a days, they now send E-Tickets over through email.

    Hope this helps ;]

Have an enjoyable and safe trip ;]
