Stargirl asked:
We will be going to Prague, Vienna, Venice (possibly Rome if time allows), Paris and Amsterdam. Time is very limited so we just want to make sure we get the important things this time around, and revisit the places we like most another time
Edit- We are getting a ten day pas, which is 5days of travel within a ten day period. So we will start travel using the pass after 2days in Prague, and finish in Amsterdam ten days later. The trip is 2 weeks in total. By the way, thanks for the suggestions x

You are buying an Interrail pass when your time is short? How short is it? The Interrail pass is good for a month…I’m pretty sure that’s still the only choice.
The only thing I know in Prague is a really neat castle and Charles Bridge. I’m not much help to you there.
Vienna, you should go to one or both of the Habsburg palaces. Stop and sit at a coffee shop and have Sacher Torte, check out some chamber music, the Boy’s choir if they are playing, take watzing lessons, just for a kick! go to a show at the Spanish Riding school.
Venice: surely you know the hot spots! Piazza San Marco…try to go at high tide and get flooded out. There’s some really good food places thater, and a cafe where Hemingway used to hang out in his youth. Cathedral and plenty of art museums…just pick one or two that appeal to you. I remember spending about a whole day wandering around lost trying to find the Accademia. The maps and road names didn’t exactly match up. Palazzo dei Doges (I think I spelled that right…don’t know too much Italian) Bridge of Sighs, and the Ponte Rialto. Take a romantic gondola ride if that’s your cup of tea. (it’s pricey, but you sort of have to) If you don’t like the romantic part, pair up with another couple and do it more like friends…And, like anyplace else, wander around and just soak up the atmosphere.
No interest in Florence? I would do Florence, for all the Renaissance art, rather than Rome. You might not have enough time to do Rome justice. I think it needs at least 5 days! (personal preference), because of ALLL the antiquities and history and culture! I might plan Rome for a second trip, because you’ll probably leave feeling like you missed a lot.
when you go to venice go on a gondola boat ride. i went last year nd it was a amaxzing experience.
