Main Music Festival In Barcelona

Primavera is one of Barcelona’s most successful festivals and will enjoy its tenth year from May 27-29. During these days, thousands of revellers will come together to see such UK acts as The Pet Shop Boys and The Charlatans. Arguably the most eagerly awaited performance, however, will come from 2009 breakthrough artist Florence and the Machine. There will also be gigs by some of the most-loved songsters from the worlds of grunge, pop and rock.

Demand for tickets is likely to be high for an event now in its tenth year. In recent years, the home of the festival has been the Parc del Forum, known as a great outdoor area. As well as the aforementioned bands, the festival will also feature some big-name DJs. Fans of dance music are bound to take note of this fact. Whoever you want to see, you can book your tickets through Ticketmaster, CD Dome, Seetickets UK and the festival’s website.

The Parc del Forum will provide the stage for all the acts. In recent years, it has been the home of the festival and is well versed in hosting significant events. The park can be found in the Diagonal Mar area, just off the Ronda del Litoral ring road. This not only makes it accessible but has created lots of room for expansion. Since being constructed in 2004 for the Universal Forum of Cultures in 2004, the park has hosted many of the city’s festivals. There is also a public swimming area and a marina on-site.

The Forum Auditorium will be one of seven stages used for the festival. But there will also be numerous events held around the city held in the festival’s honour. These will include performances in parks and open areas. As a special part of the ten-year celebrations, there will also be activities on offer in the Castle Montjuic the day before the festival begins.

The Parc Forum is one of the most easily accessible spots in the city. It enjoys great transport connections by bus, train and tram. El Maresme is the nearest Metro stop, and getting off here will leave you a walk of just a few minutes. The Forum stop is where you will want to get off the tram. As for the bus, you’ll want to get on numbers 7, 36, 43 or 141, which have stops on the Av. Diagonal and Alfons el Magnanim.

Nearby hotels might mean you don’t have to travel to reach the park, but the neighbourhood is an expensive one. Hotels in Diagonal Mar might be outside of the budget of most people planning to visit the festival. A better option for accommodation is booking a apartment barcelona in the city downtown. Not only are they cheaper, but they offer lots of choice in terms of facilities. Even from the centre of town, you can jump on public transport and be at the park in minutes. So, don’t rule out a stay in the city centre.

For big fans of all things music, the Primera Sound Festival is an unmissable event. Some of the biggest names in modern music will be playing live at the superb Parc del Forum. And, because the festival is in its tenth year, you can expect a better show than ever. One of the best things about the festival is how accessible it is. So, not only does a great music experience await, you’ll also be able to enjoy accommodation within the city centre. What more could you ask for?
