Any advice? What should I do, what can’t be missed, where should I stay, flights?
Sorry……………so many questions!!!!!!

I went to Lapland just before Christmas a couple of years ago, its absolutely beautiful in winter. We stayed in a cabin, and I’d recommend one if you can afford it, but there are hotels as well. Do NOT forget to bring thermals and ski goggles (you may be provided with a snow suit depending on the type of holiday you book, but be prepared all the same), it gets very very cold – sometimes below -30 degrees.
You only get a few hours of daylight in winter so make sure you have plenty to do, make sure you’re safe and overall, have fun. Go skiing, ride a snow mobile, eat some Finish food.
Its not really the sort of place I’d go to by myself, its a bit hard to explore in winter, but have fun!
Hi there! I love lapland and have been there twice now. Once to Rovaniemi and the other time (last year christmas) to Yllas.
If you are in the UK then may i suggest you go to first Choice and book with them as i found them to be fantastic!. I did a three night/four day package for about 650 pounds per adult and that included flights, full board at the hotel and some activities. We did snow mobiling, husky dog safari, activities at santa’s workshop, reindeer rides and of course a special gala dinner with a visit from santa.
We stayed at the Snow princess hotel at the resort of yllas. If you want a little bit more luxury then you could stay at the hotel saaga which has a spa , swimming pool and night club.
Lapland is a special place for me and my family and we plan to go again soon.
The price of the holiday also included the supplying of snowsuit, hats, gloves, scarfs and snow boots!
We also preferred yllas as there was a lot more snow and you could go ski-ing too if you wanted as the hotel had a free shuttle bus that took you to the hotel and slopes and back.
Hiring of a snow mobile was also cheap.
Take plenty of Euro’s with you as you will see planty of suloevneers to buy.
Also I got to love drinking a hot chocolate with brandy and mashmellpows! Very warming after sledging outlsed. Most of the hotels have plastic sledges you can use freely to sledge down the slopes. It is mazing fun. Also graylight is amazing too. Gets light at about 10am (well as light as it does) and then is dark by 4pm.
It is a very cheerful and cosy place though as the snow is so bright, the sky lit up with stars and candles are lit and kept in massive blocks of ice to light your way around the grounds.
I say go for it!
You may even see the Northern lights!
Hi! Totally sweet post, this article gave me a lot of information. Thanks:)
