No, when I went to Scotland I went through Heathrow and is was about $300 cheaper but it was a few years ago. Try BA and Continental
I had the same experience. And BA always seems to have the best prices.
I checked just the other day, and the United flights from Portland, Oregon to Edinburgh were cheaper than the ones to London.
Flying into London is HELL -
try to avoid it.
