Depends on time of year but Prague is definitely worth considering. Great culture, not too bad weather-wise, not too expensive, excellent food and drink. Also the Italian Lake Disctrict – search Lake Garda on Yahoo – is absolutely stunning in late spring, early summer, and has absolutely incredible food too and isn’t too touristy.

Somewhere in Spain, Barcelona maybe because they party all night so you can make the best out of your short time there.

Prague! We went there for a few days as a real last minute break. We all absolutely loved it. We spent ages just walking around taking in the sights and the culture. We walked over Charles Bridge at least 4 times a day – it was beautiful! People always say the architecture is lovely there and it is but you don’t have to be particularly interested in that – it is just the most beautiful city! (If you do go then go to the Blacklight Theatre – it’s good fun and the language barrier doesn’t matter!)

Rome is also lovely with loads and loads of history – obviously!

However, personally I would give Paris a miss!!

Prague, gorgeous city and 30p a pint, sight seeing while drinking, best weekend going.

Prague, Czech Republic is beautiful and I love their beer almost as much as their women. Amsterdam was fun because of the coffee bars and redlight district.

I AM DELIGHTED SO MANY OF YOU HAVE GONE TO PRAGUE! I go every year for 2-3 weeks (my husband is Czech). If you do not eat in the tourist areas, the food is very affordable. The city is small enough that you can walk everywhere and always see something wonderful. The people are fabulous, the food is excellent, the beer…ah, there are no words to describe the taste of Czech beer..it is simply the best that there is.

We had a short trip to Bruges a couple of years ago and that was really good – it was an organised trip so included tours to Flanders where we were able to walk in the trenches and other places – it depends on what sort of thing you want to look at. The town was easy to get around and lovely and the belgian chocolates were very cheap!

Ljubliana, capitol of Slovenia. Gorgeous. English no problem, everyone speaks it.Beautiful place, lovely river ,very friendly,a gem. Excellent night-life,beautiful restaurants,or eat out under the trees by the river. Very romantic.Safe, happy, and delightful. The only city in Europe where the American and Russian Embassies are next door to each other! Also it’s the smallest capital city in Europe,so you can get to everything easy. Not expensive. Beautiful countryside around. The southern slopes of the Alps are just to the north.Day trip to Piran or Isola on the coast-absolutely idyllic. Put the names in the search box and click ‘images’.
