If I am a Holiday Maker in the UK can I get a Income Tax Rebate because I’m not entitled to benefits?

fervidgnat asked:

I feel weird asking this question because the UK is nice to let me in. I’m just curious. I don’t mind paying taxes to live in the UK please don’t get me wrong.

If you are working in the uk and paying uk taxes then you may be entitled to a rebate on taxes if you stop working. The tax year runs from 6th April – 5th April (April-March for monthly paid staff) and each week or month taxes are paid on a cumulative basis. Therefore if you stop worhing your personal allowances for the weeks you are unemployed are available to offset against previously earned income.
You should contact your local tax office regarding this.
