I have a US green card. I want to visit Spain but don’t qualify for a passport. What to do?

Europe Trip asked:

I left Vietnam as a kid and am quite not sure if I am still a citizen of that country. I asked the State Department and they said to apply with the Vietnam consulate for a passport? What I want to know is if Spain requires me to have a Vietnamese passport to visit their country or is my US green card sufficient.
