The money you will need you would be best going abroad with some sun and probably still have cash left over, London is very expensive especially the hotels. For great sight seeing tours then go to the best.

Well London isn’t a cheap city but as with anywhere if you do your research then you can keep the cost in the realms of reasonable.

The average room price per night is £115 but you can find far cheaper. I’m guessing you’ll want to be fairly central so for a 3* hotel/bb we’re talking £50-£100 per night for a room in central.

    WC1 Area

If you want somewhere a wee bit cheaper and don’t mind jumping on the tube or bus then consider looking just outside of the central zones. Consider looking at the beautiful Richmond or the great transport links of Earls Court and you can save quite a bit.

    Have a look on

They also have hotel and theatre deals that give you a really great saving as opposed to doing them sepearatly

    Or comedy and hotel packages

As for the sights it’s worth considering buying an all in one pass as, depending on how many sights you want to see, this can keep the cost down and save you a lot of money.
London Pass have tickets that cover all manner of sights and it comes in at £52 each

If you just want to stick to the three you listed then have a look at this offer called the Multi Ticket, it comes out at just £44 a head for the Eye, The Dungeons and Madame Tussauds.

That said a lot of the more interesting aspects of London don’t have to cost a thing as many of the galleries and museums have free entry

This is a great site for details of low cost and free activities

Finally there’s a great group on Facebook that gives you an insiders guide to London’s best little secrets, it’ll be a good way to show off to your Mrs by taking her off the beaten tourist track

Hope this helps and that you have a great break
