Has anyone had the experience living in egypt or any other middle eastern country?

Gangstalicious asked:

I stayed in egypt for a month when i was 20. I went to visit my step dads family there and i did not enjoy myself at all. In fact i cried every night to go home. It was soooooooooo hot and dusty there. I stayed in the poor section of alexandria (baukos) and i basically stayed in 1 bedroom flat majority of the time. At least i was able to go to the different malls, and restaurants. However, the men expressed their feelings freely. Meaning i had one guy grab my ****** and run, another guy said in arabic said that he bet i tasted like honey, and another said something that made my brother want to beat his a**. So after my little excursion i haven’t went in 4 yrs and don’t intend to come back. So how was anyone else experience?

It is not weird since ,as you mention, you seem to have been staying in a poor area. You must have been one of the very few foreigners they ever saw so closely in their lives, and given the false ideas they get from western movies, they might have thought you would not mind.
It is a common problem in poor areas every where around the world. I am an Egyptian and I would not feel comfortable walking around these areas, although I would not look as exotic as you may look. Someone should have warned you about that.

im egyptian.. i dont blame u for hating egypt.. how could u love it with such an experience?
but i just want u to know, that what u experienced is the WORST of it.. thats not the norm here..
maybe it IS kind o normal here for guyz to say such comments to girls.. but thats usually it.. i rerally sympathize with u..

i hope u would consider coming to egypt again, and maybe stay in cairo this time in a nice hotel where it’ll be more convenient.. egypt is a very nice place.. if u think im biased coz its my country and everything then u can check the answers of foreigeners who have been to egypt before in other questions

plz dont generalize what happened to u to all egyptians, and i hope u would re-consider coming again and have a better experience

ur experience didn’t mean that all egptian is like this bad people and as in every country in the world there is bad places and bad people and good places and good people
this place that u said that u stay in ( baukos ) is one of the poorest sections in alexandria and if u go to abu -ker street u will find that u is at zezenya section and it’s from the richest section in alex and this section beside baukos if u go there u will find another people and another life
so plz don’t take this expretion that egyptians is a bad people bcoz thier is gentelmen in egypt but u didn’t saw them and i think that u see some of them in the malls
if u go to USA and go to harlum section in NY city u will think that USA is a bad country but if u go to LA city u will think that USA is the best country in the world and thier is no country in the world can called itself the best country in the world or called itself the worst country in the world

    I am Egyptian. I haven’t been to Bakus.So I don’t have any experience there.
However, I have been to America. To Georgia.
    I hated it.
Life there is so materialistic.Everyone cares about money only. Emotions are dead. Love is not romance. Love is sex, which is another form of materialism.
I have had the worst time of my life. People accusing me of being a terrorist for being Muslim. Suspecting me for going regularly to pray.
Girls in America are constantly objectified. They are made to wear revealing clothes because of the Media. They are made to consider themselves as sexual toys because this is what the society brings them up too.
In Egypt, one can see the bad things. In America , one can only figure them out.
But not every mind can figure them out especially if it is blurred by a bad relationship with a -more likely- abusive stepfather who- by all means- can’t be taken to represent an 80-million-people country.

sweetheart this is not a group therapy
So how was anyone else experience what do u mean?
u come here in egypt section and post that question telling us how bad is egypt and that u dont intend to come here, did anybody ask u in the first place?
is ur opinion important here? i dont think so, actually i dont own a tourism company so that i would kiss ur *ss and beg u to come back again to encourage tourism.
u dont like egypt, then dont come back, end of story.
what do u expect? to find people here who **** egypt as well, and u all gather around to express ur pain and suffering and cry together?
why dont u post ur question on Psychology section, instead of having the gutts to enter egypt section and insult us like that.

I was born and raised in Egypt. I’ve been living in the States for a very long time now, but I still call Egypt home. I’ve been back 3 times already, and I would love to go back again soon. I know for a fact that if u had a good time in Egypt, u would come back and praise it, and would want to go back, but if u had a bad time, u would **** it and never would want to go back. So it’s all depending on your experience there. I always manage to have fun while I’m there. I love to see my family and friends. There are positives and negatives about every place all over the world. You decide what you want to experience, and what you want to leave out. It also makes a big difference whom you stayed with, and whom you hung out w/. My family and friends always make sure that I’ve a good time while I’m there.
I used to live in a small city in Cairo, and I used to **** the apartment where I lived. Guess what, I always go back to the same place, b/c it’s where I was born. I know that the place made me who I’m right now.
Egypt has changed so much in the past few years. You can either go back and try to experience something better, or you can decide never to go back again. It’s totally up to u. But I know that I want to go back and have fun again. Egypt has beautiful places that you can go to and have tons of fun…
