Do I need a visa to visit Spain from America for a week?

Friends_with_Buttercup! asked:

I have a passport and want to take a spontaneous trip to Barcelona but I need to know if I should get a visa first. It’s only for a few days, up to a week, for traveling purposes.

No, you don’t. See site below and read under Entry Requirements.

nope. If your passport is US (or any of a number of other countries) your visa, up to 3 months, is INCLUDED in the stamp you get when you go through customs (in the passport). Even if they don’t stamp it, you’re good.

OVER 3 months, or if you plan to work, you’ll need a proper visa.
