Right now it’s cold because it’s winter, so unless you like skiing then it’s best to go in the summer as it will give you more things to do. If you do plan to go in February then bring your scarf and gloves!

well, since I am Scottish and I live there all year round, I can say the weather in February is terrible. It’s best to avoid Scotland during winter months, and if possible the best time to visit is during summer, as it’s slightly warmer.

During the winter, the chilliest months are December, January and February, with highest day temperatures characteristically around 5°C (41°F); and although at night it may fall to -4/5°C or lower, the temperature rarely stays below freezing during the day in wintertime. Btw. good choice for coming here in 2009 it’s home coming year, Rabbie Burns’ birthday have a look in their website lots of events happening all year round!

The Scottish weather is infamous, might not be much better in the summer lol. You’d be better off in the summer, but have a look at Homecoming 2009 on Google. Lots of stuff happening over 2009 all over the country to celebrate Rabbie Burns’ 250th. So there might be something on later in the year you might not wanna miss.

All three. Distribute your money around so that if one wallet gets stolen you can still enjoy the trip. I always travel with at least 3 wallets: one for the plastic, one for the cash and one that I take out for all to see and has the small change.

Have copies of all important documents in your luggage. If possible scan and email them to an account that you can access at an internet cafe.

Have you considered going up to the Highlands this time around? The views there are beautiful but there is also plenty of opportunities for outdoor and water sports for your boys so there is something for everyone. This is a summer recommendation though since I don’t think hypothermia is an activity you want to indulge in!

Stanley Park
Walk around Sea-wall at False Creek
Walk the Sea-wall from Canada Place to Stanley Park on the inlet
Tour Robson Street for High End Shopping.
Take Skytrain from Waterfront station to the end of the line in Surrey and come back again
Go to Metrotown Shopping center.

You don’t have to take the ferry to Victoria. I would suggest taking the ferry to Nanaimo which is almost half way up Vancouver Island. Then you have to go north to Port Hardy which is the southern terminus of the run to Prince Rupert. Port Hardy has everything from hotels/motels and restaurants, BB’s. There are scooter rental companies in Victoria and Nanaimo but I don’t know about Prince Rupert. Once in Prince Rupert you catch the ferry to the Queen Charlotte’s. Hope you have a great time but chose your time of year as that part of BC received considerable rain and that could put a real damper on your holiday.
