However, Verbier has snow making facilities, so there will be some skiing if the weather is cold enough (which it should be by then). Most main resorts open earlier than this, although you may find that limited lifts and runs are in operation. Official opening dates for resorts, do not mean that they are closed prior to this. It just means that they will be aiming for at least a basic level of snow coverage and skiing at the opening date using snow cannons. Last year was not a good year.
