Skiing in Bulgaria

February 4th, 2009 — 11:33 am

Looking for a new skiing resort? Why not visit Bulgaria for a change! More and more people are booking their holidays in the Republic of Bulgaria because the word is getting around that this is a brilliant resort and by the way, one that is packed with value for money! The beach holidays by the Black Sea are becoming hugely popular and so are the spa holidays but it is the skiing and the winter sports that are proving especially popular!

When in Bulgaria hire a car and visit the resorts to find one that suits you best. Many settle for that of Bansko or Pamporovo.

Bear one thing in mind Bulgaria is a superior holiday destination and one that satisfies everybody’s needs. The popularity of the country is predicted to grow and grow and grow, which is good news because our holiday spending makes a considerable contribution to sustaining the national economy.

Whether you choose Bulgaria for the Mediterranean summers by the Black Sea or the harsh alpine winters in the north of the country, you can be sure of one thing here, you will never get bored of the variety!

How to get to and from Prague Airport

January 27th, 2009 — 07:08 am

Sixteen kilometres from your atmospheric Prague accommodation in the city centre sits Prague International Airport. If you have chosen to hire a car for your trip, the journey from the airport to the city centre is well signposted and the route easy to navigate. If you have an appointment to get to, allow at least forty minutes to travel from the airport into the city, as there can be quite a lot of traffic about at certain times of the day. Much of the sightseeing can be enjoyed on foot in and around the Old Town but for those who like to explore further afield, a hire car is the perfect way to go.

Taxis are available from the airport to the city centre and will charge the equivalent of about thirteen pounds. To find the rank, you will need to walk across to Exit C at the terminal. The journey by road will take between twenty and forty minutes depending on the time of day.

An airport shuttle bus leaves Exit E and travels every half an hour to Namesti Republicky and costs two pounds and twenty pence. To be on the safe side, allow about forty minutes for this journey.

An economical method of travel is that of the 119 bus service. The stop is situated via the walkway of the Bus Centrum and the bus will deliver you to the Dejvicka metro station where there are four stops into the city centre. The cost for this journey (allow up to an hour) is around 27p.
