I have a US green card. I want to visit Spain but don’t qualify for a passport. What to do?

January 23rd, 2010 — 08:45 am
Europe Trip asked:

I left Vietnam as a kid and am quite not sure if I am still a citizen of that country. I asked the State Department and they said to apply with the Vietnam consulate for a passport? What I want to know is if Spain requires me to have a Vietnamese passport to visit their country or is my US green card sufficient.

Where to visit while in London for a semester?

November 26th, 2009 — 03:47 pm
livitup11 asked:

I will be studying abroad this spring in London. While I am there I plan to take any breaks I have and spend them traveling in other parts of Europe. I already know I want to visit Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. If I were to fly to one or two other places (Not France or Italy or Spain- I’ve already been there and would like to try someplace new) where would you say I should go? I would like to go someplace beautiful with lots of outdoorsy things to do.

Any tips on sights and things to do on a trip to England, Scotland, and possibly Ireland?

August 3rd, 2009 — 12:37 pm
kanman5000 asked:

I will hopefully travel in early July for 2 weeks on a budget of $2000. Can anyone recommend cheap and fun things to do in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Dublin? And any other places or things I should see/do while I’m in the area?
At the moment, the only must-see things on my itinerary are:
Stonehenge
Shakespeare’s Global Theater
trips to Oxford/Cambridge from London (what’s the best means of travel?)
Buckingham Palace

Thanks.

Travelling to UK for holiday- immigration laws?

August 1st, 2009 — 07:15 am
Unefemme asked:

Hi, well I’m planning to make a trip to the UK at the end of this year, December. I was wondering if there are any particular laws or restrictions in the UK for New Zealand citizens. I’m an 18 year old, and I’m only going to the UK for a month for holiday. I have accommodation already sorted.
Is there some sort of UK holiday permit there for New Zealanders? Do I need to apply for a visa etc? Also, if someone can provide me some great informative sites on it, would be wonderful.
Any help would be great, thanks!

Scottish Road trip – where to go and stay?

June 27th, 2009 — 01:11 am
Carl E asked:

I’m currently planning a Scotish road trip for my girlfriend and I at the end of the month, and wanted some advice on places to see, eat, drink and stay.

The plan so far is to head for Loch Lomond (not sure whereabouts though any suggestions?), then to Oban and perhaps a trip to one of the isles, then somewhere near Ben Nevis probably en route to Fort William, before heading back to England via Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Can anyone suggest any must see places near or at these destinations, and any really good country pubs and restaurants??

Thanks

Would you wait to take a trip to London until the US dollar improves?

June 6th, 2009 — 10:44 am
preppy20 asked:

I’m turning 30 this summer and I am starting to plan a trip to London, maybe a few side trips to nearby countries. I’ve been dying to go for a long time, but so many people have said that I should wait until the US dollar gains strength, otherwise I’m going to be spending way too much money. Also, do you have any suggestions of good websites with reasonably priced travel packages that will tour you to multiple regional destinations? London, Paris, Frankfurt, etc?

When you travel do you feel like you wish you knew how?

May 5th, 2009 — 02:14 am
Charles R asked:

I have traveled to several countries in the past few years, and I swear each time, i wish that I had planned better. I always find myself tired for one thing when I get there, so i dont have enough energy to see everything.
Plus , my main point is this, what do you really want to see when you travel? Sites? Buildings? Restaurants? Hotels? I think that sites should be second after meeting people. I have found this to be the best thing about traveling. It is sooo boring otherwise! Anybody know how to meet people better? I mean you just cant really walk up to them on the street and start acting too friendly they will think you are desperate or wierd! or you will start to feel wierd if they start getting too friendly!

Any tips on how you travel? What is it that you find best? It really takes an experienced traveler to get the most out of his/her trip. really takes know how.
