Can anyone recommend a good place to go for a cheap trip or weekend break?

IP_Outcast asked:

I need a break, but I don’t have much money. I can go for one week maximum or possibly just a weekend and I’d be willing to stay in the UK; it doesn’t have to be somewhere abroad. Additionally me and my friends might make a stag do out of it for our other mate, but I’m not sure. If you can recommend anything it’d be really appreciated, I really need to escape from everything for a little while!

why dont you try a caravan site? they rent vans out and sleep up to 8 people if you use the pull out bed thats usualy found in the front room(metal action usualy) if there is 8 of you going it will be realy cheap to hire as you all share the cost.best to go on a long weekend as there will be entertainment at the weekend and you can get over any hangover by monday,it should be pretty cheap now as school hols finished.hope you find somewere and have a good time.

    Hi…

Well, I know you did say you’d be willing to stay in England, but if you did fancy going further a-field…

I did have a totally awesome time visitng Brussels this year.. It’s kinda a place thats not really over publicised, but its great..We booked through last minute.com and got a flight and hotel deal for about £150, which I think is quite reasonable… The prices when you’re there are fine as well..

Also, theres a train station, which has trains running to Brugges (which takes about 30 minutes..kinda a chocolate box town, but nice to see..) and if you’re feeling adventurous Amsterdam is 3 hours…. And well, theres all kinds of fun to be had there!!

    happy travelling…

May I recommend Frommers.com its slightly more user friendly than Lonely planet as a travel destination info site…

The people were really welcoming, there were laods and loads of bars and pubs selling great dutch, german, belguim (of course!) beers… There were Waffles stands were you could get a chocolate, cream, ice cream strawberry, whatever you imagine on a freshly made waffle (yum!) the scenery isnt too shabby either…Hand on heart, grande place in brussels, with exception of the coloseum in rome, was the most spectacular architecture Ive ever seen, and ive been to a lot of places!!

So, maybe thats something for you to think about…
