Try the peak district, it is very pretty. I got married in Matlock Bath in a hotel called the New Bath Hotel, that was nice phone them up and haggle a deal. Northerners are a cheerie bunch of people.
Depends how far north u want to be. Newcastle upon tyne lots of hotels with reasonable rates. U then have the option of city life with all the entertainment right there. Or easy links to the coast or countryside. Check out tourist information for ideas and info.
Try the White Horse and Griffin in Whitby. Not fully 4* but the food and atmosphere are excellent. You can even have a little suite on the harbour!
Or……………………if the Stars are important, and the money not so important…………..The Cavendish Hotel, Baslow (next to Chatsworth House). You will be really well looked after and your wallet gently emptied!

why dont you get a cheap flight to brastislava , only £ 25 return with ryanair , very cheap drink and hotels are class . Its a great city and as a extra bonus thrown in as all there blokes are over here working , you will pretty much have a pick of some fine woman … they love the english …happy travels
